A Brooklyn Summer

When asked where you’re from you may reply New York or New York by way of Montana for all of my hipsters. Brooklynites don’t have the problem, we never shy away from the opportunity of letting other people know where we reside. We all know Brooklyn is really dope, but this summer my Brooklyn pride is at an all time high due to all the festivities that are taking place. This summer there is something for everyone in Brooklyn, hip hop heads, punk, afro punk, even the Caribbean scene is live and in effect. Starting next week June 12th Afro Punk is back and hosting a block party in Fort Green, not to be confused with the 5th annual Afro-Punk Festival July 3rd-July 8th. This event is totally free, yes FREE! Headliners include artist Earl Greyhound, Whole Wheat Bread and Janelle Monae. So come by, this event is for all ages, free skate instructions for the young ones, with equipment. When it comes to music you know SupremeTeam has you covered, for all my hip hop heads on June 20th Brooklyn Bodega presents the 5th annual Brooklyn hip hop festival. This is a day of absolutely everything hip hop, that is reminiscent of the day when hip hop was not just a past time but a way of life. The donation is $10 which is minute compared to the experience. You’ll thank us later. Get this, just a day after on June 21st the annual Brooklyn Music Festival hits Flatbush Ave with performances by Serani, Movado, and Capleton just to name a few! The price is about $50 but all around this is the biggest Caribbean event beside Labor Day to hit New York each year. Well we took you to the well now drink bitches!
