Electric Light Orchestra- Turn To Stone

Hey young world, i just wanted to drop a jewel with another edition of Prince's random music. On a drunk rant one night, a friend that shall remain nameless and I, walked into a random bar, in a neighborhood that shall also remain nameless, and heard this song. Thank the heavens for shazam, or as my lil brother Ursula calls it "shabazz", cause i fell in love with this song on the spot. I hope you all enjoy it as much as i do.

P.s. i added the live video for you all to see how cool these dudes look. I hope i look this cool when i get older.

Jay-z - On To the Next One (Feat. Swizz Beatz)

Everyone's aware of the electro-hiphop fusion. Bloody Beetroots collaborated with the Cool Kids. MSTRKRFT made dope tracks with a whole line-up including E-40, Ghostface, Noreaga, & many more. And now Swizz is testing the waters. Now Swizz is nasty... & Jay...everyone knows he's the man, and Justice??? Everyone who knows me knows I'm a big electrohead... & im CRAZY about JUSTICE. Swizz samples "under the spotlights", a line from the well known Justice song D.A.N.C.E. Its an interesting collaboration but im not too crazy about the sample manipulation. Let's see what the fans think. And once again Jay does not fail to spew his distaste for auto-tune. HAHA... This is why I love Jay... cuz he's consistent. Let's see if Swizz is able to pull it off. Jay-z x Swizz Beatz x Justice Sample D.A.N.C.E.

Jay-z Rhapsody commercial

Hey young world, in anticipation of the Blueprint 3 album dropping on September 11,2009, Jay-z has collaborated with Rhapsody, the online music website, for a reminiscent commercial to make all Hov fans appreciate the fact that we have stuck around with Jay as long as he has stuck around with us. not much to say about this commercial except that it is GENIUS. enjoy and watch out for the album Blueprint 3 dropping on 9/11.

P.S. Hov is also performing at Madison square garden on 9/11 for a benefit concert for the heroes and their families of 9/11. as usual, stay tuned and stay SUPREME. one love

Party @ Kitchen (Jungle) Tuesdays

Today I was walking in Willie b with my bro... Lo & behold... A graden, some chairs, a crazy soundsystem, and random people yelling hi to me. Looks like they were setting up. I started conversation with a random person. He introduces himself as a DJ for APT (in Meat Packing District) on Fridays always playing Afro-columbian music. I love Afro-Columbian music. He told me they just started this periodic Tuesday party at Kitchen Tuesdays (jungle) N10th & Kent, Williamsburg, NY.
IM IN THERE.

JACKPOT!!

Was trying to buy my ticket for the long island railroad. The machine sucked up a few of my quarters and didn't dispense my ticket. I was assed out and a few quarters short and didn't know how I was gonna get to my destination. Then some random homeless dude came right next to me and started banging the machine. My automatic reaction was "What the **** bro?". Next thing you know... All I heard was jingles... As if I was working in a mint. I took as much as possible and ended up getting as much as $5 and change comprised of a combination of quarters and 2 dollar coins. I missed my train but hey... It was worth it. I got some extra Pesos Hope noone was watching... I'm debating if I should bang on the machine everytime I catch that train. In a moral dilemma. We'll see. Oh & the homeless man is still banging and kickin the machine and has been doing so for the past 15 minutes...

Cause when you stop dreaming, its time to die

Hey young world, today was the official release of the much anticipated mixtape by revolutionary emcee, poet and lyrical prophet, Prophit. Prophit is an amazing artist who encompasses the vision of an MC in our day and age without the corny, boring same old same that us Hip-Hop heads are continuously fed. With original production, lyrical genius, and a visionary outlook, the mixtape is brilliant and certainly portrays Prophit as the future of the rap game. A lyricist, visionary, genius, and a great friend, I wish Prophit the best in all his endeavours, one love and stay supreme my brother. To download the mixtape go to http://itstheofficial.wordpress.com/2009/07/28/prophit-cause-when-you-stop-dreaming-its-time-to-die/ . SUPPORT GREAT MUSIC AND REAL ARTISTS!!!!

CARNIVAL!!

We wouldn't feel right if we did not properly represent what made us who we are today. We're talking about the Carribbean! Haiti and Trinidad hold a special place within & Carribean people in general and overall just have a certain aura about them that is incomparable. If you've never ventured outside the U.S. to party now's the time and it doesnt have to break your pockets either. The key is to think ahead! The two biggest caribbean events are coming sooner than you think. Sorry Boston and New York. In this case were referring to Toronto's Caribana and Trinidad's Infamous Carnival. Toronto's Caribana Parade on August 2nd is anything short of amazing, and you can get there for as little as $1 and as much as $40 on Mega Bus(1).
In Trinidad the actual festivities span for about 10 days from February 15th ends on Ash Wednesday February24th. Ticket prices fluctuate but the ideal time to buy is around Oct-Nov. I have seen tickets as low as $200-$300 round trip so get that vacation time up!

How Can Anything Beat the Dollar Menu?

I was venturing Flatiron before I headed my way to study at Barnes & Nobles by Union Square and lo and behold a sign saying "$1 slices of Pizza"... one cannot question what I did... not another thought or breath was exchanged,  I did not hesitate, or waste another nano-second before I got on the line to get my slice. They didn't even tax me... While on line I noticed they served other entrees such as fries, different types of rice, chicken, sweet potatoes, & broccoli for the price of  $1 per item/portion also. And they do serve reasonable portions enough to fill the average person. I went in and satisfied my burning desire of that endless pit of a stomach I have for only $3. Another customer had the audacity to ask for another giant spoon of rice and reject it because the cashier told her it would be an extra dollar... got me tight... anyway this place is located on West 17th and 6th Ave. (Ave. of the Americas)... check it out...

This upcoming Saturday, July 18th from 3pm to 7pm at the Central Park Summerstage will be a free perfromance held by prominent figures in the history of our present day music. Q-tip of A Tribe Called Quest, The Renaissance man, or whatever best fits your esteemed description of the hiphop legacy will be performing, as well as the dopest uprising band Chester French, comprised of two Harvard University Graduates, who met in their freshman year and started musically vibing since then, and later on even came out with a mixtape of insane musical sound mingled with some very well known figures in hip hop called Jacque Jams Volume I. Other artists such as Benji B and Little Dragon will too be tuning our ears on adrenaline rush x influenza; yes its that sick... It gets sicker than the Flu...

What are you talking bout Hov???

So for all of us who were drinking and hanging out during this past weekend, Jay-z had a concert in Vegas. In this concert, Hov busts an acappella version of the new intro to his soon to drop Blueprint 3 album. In this intro he goes into name dropping, with various names such as game, dame, and jimmy. He also throws some silent blows and if you can't tell who he speaks of, then you need to listen to some more Hov. You can find a video of this on youtube athttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=twZfVSsbrDs . So yall need to check that out and look out for that BP3 album planned to drop on September 11,2009. As always stay supreme and one love.

Attention fellow bikers!!!

Hey young world, now we all know that the new move is to get a bike and ride around willie B, Soho, LES etc. Especially with the new subway prices, bikers are going to be more prevalent in our city this summer season. But what a lot of us bikers, myself included, don't know and sometimes completely ignore, is the fact that we too have rules and codes to follow as bikers riding around the city. I was told that we have the same rules as cars in a lot of ways and we need to take them into consideration or we can be ticketed. I don't know about you, but I know the last thing I need is a damn ticket for riding my bike down the opposite direction of a one way street. So the website for us bikers and the rules we should follow is www.bikingrules.org. So be safe, be smart and always stay supreme. Peace young world

50 cent- Where you Are

first and foremost we would like for everybody to remember the great life and career of the greatest artist that the world had ever seen, he will be remembered and missed. Rest In Peace to Michael Jackson, God bless his family and friends, and be with them at this time of grief. secondly, 50 cent dropped a track two days ago featuring a sample from the King of Pop. This song is 50's reintroduction to what we saw in 50 around get rich or die tryin' days. 50's on point flow, and MJ's voice, express the deep passion behind this song. this song is too dope, if you haven't heard it yet listen to it hear on at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_l8XMHAaOaw&feature=related . And if you don't know the sample, SHAME ON YOU!!!!, but that can be heard at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-XY1SyaqDaY . Enjoy family

Good Life!!!!

Ok so for all of you who have seen us in parties, or party with us at all, you have seen that we LOVE house music. In my 22 years on this earth, my mother has influenced my musical selection in a major way, and house music is one of those things that mommy taught me and I'm so happy that she did. This song is one of my favorite house songs for an array of reasons, the good feel to it, the great beat, the singers melodic voice, they all come together to make for a great song. I love this song to the point that I wanted to share it with you guys. The song is by a group called Inner City and is called Good Life, just take a listen and enjoy people. Watch it here on youtube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=998P6HEzCdI . I hope you enjoy it as much as i do.
P.S. If any dj's are reading this, you need to throw this song on once and a while.

How Can You Resist???

So lately, we have been doing a lot of moves in willie B, if u haven't noticed by the last couple of posts, and we have come across a diamond in the rough. How many people in this world, let alone New York, don't like pizza, and how many people don't like beer??? I don't think there is anyone who doesn't like those two, so just imagine them together. Stop the presses, not only is this place a bar and pizza shop, but with every purchase of beer, you get a free personal pan pizza to go along with it. At Charleston bar and grill located on N7th street and bedford ave in Willie B, you can find this great combination. So drink up to eat up and if your ever there and see three dudes one with a heineken, one with a red stripe, and one with a blue moon with orange peel...you know its us and don't be afraid to take a seat and chill. Let's get it this summer NY.
P.s- the beers are very cheap so enjoy and always drink responsibly.

I Got It For Cheap!!

Ladies & gents finding stuff for cheap, cheaper than regular retail sale prices has been the most efficient way to find your most desired fashionable wear and saving large amounts of money at the same time. Killing two birds with one rocket is the wise man's method. I'm sure most of us hipsters already know about Beacon's Closet located in Williamsburg which has become among the personal favorite spots of many. I've gotten a number of valuable items from there and my boys Prince & Urs' got really badass Levis Jean jackets from there for only $18 each. You know how hard those are to find??!
- Beacons Closet located @ N11th & Wythe in willie B
- Buffalo Exchange located @ N9th & Driggs in willie B

If You Wanna Soar With Eagles, Dont Hang With Turkeys...

"If you wanna soar with eagles dont hang with turkeys" is not just a cool, philosophical saying that one epiphanizes after a strain of deep pensive thought...it is a lifestyle...it is incorporated in daily thought process, action, habit, and in everything and way the winner functions. And last week Sunday, April 26, 2009 at Merkato 55, MyUberLife Inc. has celebrated with like-minded individuals this uneasy, sacrificial, effortful, strenuous, yet overall rewarding lifestyle. Artists, models, famous people, the average New Yorker (no, excuse me, that was an oxymoron), the dopest New Yorker, football players, anyone you can imagine under the face of the sun and simultaneously DOPE was present. Nothing in the world is cooler than your dreams coming true...NOTHING...and this is exactly what is happening at an exponential and periodic rate for the three wise men who spearhead MyUberLife Inc. and those who choose to make the wisest decision to follow. If you do not know them or know of them then you have a serious problem and there is something you are not doing...they are WINNERS...and like minded people function alike...get with it... Much love, honor, and respect to MyUberLife Inc. And witness your life at irreversible upwardness with others who want the same at Merkato 55, located at 55 Gansevoort St. NY, NY with MyUberLife Inc.

Mighty Mos

Pretty Flaco, Black Jack Johnson, Boogie Man whatever you want to call him is back on Freaky Radio, and released a sick remix to Kanye's "Say you Will" beat. Mos' melodic voice and live band invoke a very intimate tone on the song. Honestly we haven't heard Mos like this since "the Panties" on "The New Danger"...need I say more. This is just a small taste of what is to come, Mos is set to release his forth solo album, The Ecstatic, later on this year.We will def keep you posted in the future about that, but for now this is the link to listen and download the record http://www.zshare.net/audio/591028648d8e2c5f/. The Beast Never Sleeps... I Love New York

Recession Recession...yeah yeah... that stops noone from enjoying their lives... But thats the beauty of it!!

Wouldn't it be the perfect night if not only good music was played, but the night appealed to all your other senses as well?? Just imagine the best dynamic form of lighting and much more space, not frequent clustering as what usually occurs to the point that it accumulates into a moshpit or you can no longer extend your arms and spin around in place without touching or knocking someone down. Ultra Lounge gives you the night... be comfortable and have a blast... enjoy your own presence and the presence of the most charasmatic people in the world...oh and its free
This Friday, April 24, 2009 at Ultra Lounge located at 37 W 26th St. NY, NY (bet. Broadway and 6th ave.)

I love Friday nights! And I love saving money... and toworrow night is one of those nights, (oh, what a paradox), where entry is free and drinks are no more than an open fist. And Daft Punk songs?! Songs of the greatest electronica French duo of all time will be filling your ears and dug into your subconscious memories! A night of electro+80s+French house+many more beautiful sounds+insanity juice??haha=a damn good night to me... be there or be square...
Tomorrow Friday 24, 2009 at Royal Oak located at 594 Union Ave. Brooklyn, NY

I love being a hipster!! Dont you?! So for those of us who yearn dreadfully and ever so patiently for fun filled excitement at the end of the week, try at the middle of the week where every Wednesday is a night of freedom and FREE ENTRY in one of the dopest spots in the heart of Brooklyn where you can reminisce and dance as the DJ spins some of the greatest Old school hip hop and reggae tracks timelessly enjoyed by those who possess a good ear!! You ever liked to do something so much but sucked at it?? In my case its pool, and yes they have a pool table...
Every Wednesday night at East River Bar located at 97 South 6th St. Williamsburg Brooklyn

And dont forget to check out Sway... people usually complain about Mondays. Everyone hates them. But I never thought I'd have so much fun on the first business day of the week. And yes...believe it or not... it is filled with some of the most charasmatic people in the Beast that never sleeps...
SWAY, every Monday night at 305 Spring St.

much love NY and the World- ViCi

New Royce da 5'9 freestyle-Slaughter

Us at Supreme Team got word of a new track that dropped today by Royce da 5'9 and i must say, this joint is insane. Ive been feeling Royce since i heard BOOM, and if you haven't heard that joint yet, you need to google it, youtube it whatever you have to do to hear it. Royce has been laying low for a minute, but this freestyle is definitely his re-introduction into the game. His calm flow and smooth delivery always allow for the lyrics to shine forward and take over the track, even on a record such as this one where he is going in and getting at rappers. I always appreciate a strong track with no hook and just bars being spit, but this really came out of nowhere and blew my mind. I hope that this isn't just a tease and that this is a precursor to the whole Slaughter House project. For those of you who don't know who the members of Slaughter House are, they're royce da 5'9, Joell Ortiz, Crooked I and Joe Budden. I really enjoyed this track and I'm anticipating the work that SH is coming out with. I'm done talking about it, here's the link for you to give it a listen and even download it. http://www.zshare.net/audio/59058133495dae11/ . Comment and tell us how you feel about the record and remember where you heard about it first.

Clipse feat Kanye West- Kind of a big deal

We just got word of a new song from Clipse featuring Kanye called kind of a big deal. This song is dope, I've loved Clipse since their first album and "Yeezy" never comes wack. I'm glad to hear Kanye rapping again and also to see Clipse dropping new music, Ive been waiting for something from them since Hell Hath No Fury, which was insane and you need to hear that. On this track we get to hear Clipse refrain from their usual drug talk, even though they are great at that, and we see Kanye back on his arrogant swag. The beat is cool, the lyrics make you feel like spending the recession money that you don't have and all three flows are on point, so give the record a listen and even hit us back and tell us how you feel about the track. you can listen and also download it at http://showhype.com/story/clipse_ft_kanye_west_kind_of_a_big_deal/. so just copy the address and enjoy!!!

Chester French-Jacques Jams Vol.1 review

I heard Chester French before this mixtape and I must say they didn't let me down in the least. to begin, this is a rock band letting out a hip-hop/rock fusion mixtape, a ballsy move already. This is amazing, From the line-up of artists like Pusha T, Janelle Monae, Kardinal Offishall, Bun B, Kweli and Common, to great production and down to earth topics, this mixtape is ill for everyone who enjoys a great listen. Its just dope music for people who like dope music. The sound of Chester French would be like "The Love Below" and "In Search of.." have a love child that gets adopted by Kool and the Gang, yea imagine that spectrum of music. The witty lyrics, guitar-driven chords, and hilarious skits keep the listener waiting for whats next.
I enjoyed Jacques Jams, it was the insane, not supposed to make sense but somehow does, mash-up that I needed in my ipod. It was like watching Seinfeld and listening to the 36 Chambers on Easter Sunday in Guam. Upbeat, chill, retro-funk, whatever the vibe your into, this mixtape has it for you, they even brought it back with the "mad rapper" from the old biggie albums. Their is a track with Jada and Diddy (The Diddler) together again, how many people couldn't wait to hear that again. If Kiss and Diddy can put their feud to the side for this mixtape, I reckon they deserve a listen. I cant wait for the album to drop tomorrow, I got a good groove about this band, and of course they're backed by the Neptunes and the whole Star Trak family, so lets just see what else exactly they have in store for us. If you would like to get your hands on a copy of that, you need to go to www.chesterfrench.com/mixtape and enjoy Jacques Jams. -Prince

A week Supreme

- Chester French's debut album "love the future" drops tomorrow. For those who haven't had the chance to hear these guys you can still download the mixtape "Jacques jams vol.1: endurance" from www.chesterfrench.com/mixtape. The mixtape is really dope so give it a listen and give a great new band a chance.
- For those living under a rock and don't know about Santos party house, you need to make your way down to 96 Lafayette st and have a blast. Last week ?uestlove of The Roots was on the 1's and 2's, along with other DJ's, and it was amazing. This week, along with every third Friday of the month, the abstract himself Q-tip is on the wheels of steel so try to make it out there and enjoy.
- For the people who have work on Sundays and don't want to make it to work hungover and tired, or even if you don't have anything to do on Tuesday morning, we recommend Sway lounge for a Monday night. The DJ is always rockin' with a mix of hip-hop, reggae, dancehall, electronica, and anything that you want to hear. Its a nice spot if you really like to dance and bug out before the week starts or even for those who like to sip, sit and watch. Make it down to 305 spring st on Mondays and let loose.-V!C!
